Vegan Air Fryer Cinnamon Rolls

This recipe makes eight cinnamon rolls.

Dough:

2 cups all purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup vegan butter (Country Crock Plant Butter)
3/4 cup almond milk (or any non dairy milk)

Filling:

1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup light brown sugar

Glaze:

1 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup vegan butter
1/4 cup almond milk
1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your air fryer for three minutes at 350*F
  2. Spray down, or grease a baking receptacle small enough to fit into your air fryer (I use the Instant Pot 7″ Round Cake Pan)
  3. Add all of the dough ingredients to a large mixing bowl, all at once
  4. Mix and knead the dough into a ball with your hands, until all of the ingredients are well incorporated, put aside
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the filling ingredients with a spoon, until the cinnamon fully coats all the brown sugar, put aside
  6. In another large mixing bowl, add all of the glaze ingredients, at once, and mix together until fully combined (Don’t worry about butter clumps; they melt over the cinnamon rolls)
  7. Put your dough onto a non-stick mat, or parchment paper (If you don’t have either, sprinkle flour over the surface you’ll be working on), then with your hands, press down and out, spreading the dough into a large rectangular shape, about 9″x 13″ and about 1/2 inch thick
  8. Sprinkle the filling evenly all over the surface of the dough, leaving about a 1/2 inch border of dough without filling around the edges
  9. Gently start rolling the dough from one side to the other, as tightly as possible (Make sure you’re rolling it the long way; it should look like a long rope when you’re finished), and pinch the ends when you’re done
  10. With a sharp knife, cut the rolled dough into eight pieces (First cut it in half, then those halves in half, and then again, all those halves in half to get eight even pieces)
  11. Place all of the pieces into your greased baking dish, with one in the center and the others surrounding it (It’s okay for the rolls to touch; they come apart easily after baking)
  12. Cook the rolls in your air fryer for 20 minutes at 350*F on Air fry mode (This recipe also works in a standard oven at the same temperature and bake time)
  13. When the 20 minutes are up, carefully take the baking dish out of the air fryer, and place it on a mat or towel to protect your table/counter
  14. Slowly pour the glaze evenly over all the rolls, and let them sit for at least ten minutes (The longer they sit, the more the rolls will absorb the glaze)

Enjoy!
